When she received her first crown, all the attention started to get to her head, and the more crowns she won, the hungrier she got for power and popularity.

One of my thoughts about it.
She probably changed from mad when leaving equestria, to happy when she saw so many new things to do and learn or maybe she finally felt in community.
And then, every year went a little more crazy for power.

She sure did! And I know that Dana had more ideas for episodes, too. A lot of moments that occurred in the montages could have been their own stand-alone episodes, but unfortunately, those ideas had to be dwindled down and crammed in at the last minute.
